What I've Bought

Well in the future I may and attempt to cater my writings toward what my readers want to hear, but since I currently have a readership of zero, I get to decided what to write about. And that may mean in the future I could end up writing about finances and how wonderfully those are coming or classes and what I've taken, however, this time around I shall write what I want to, and that is about my new purchases.
Ever since Christmas 2011, shortly after I received word that I'd have the opportunity to participate in this adventure, I've been accumulating things for the trip. My hiking backpack and I have become good friends over the last semester. It is a ninety liter backpack in which I will be carrying all available possessions. Then there was a dry spell in which I did not make any purchases. However, as my birthday approached, I started creating a list of items I would need. During this time I noticed that REI was having a sale, so I looked and found a couple sale items that I would need and I could get remarkably marked down. So I bought myself a pair of quick-drying shorts and a quick-drying t-shirt. I also found a rain jacket on Target's clearance rack that can fold into the left pocket to make it rather compact. Then I got my gifts for my birthday. One was a sleeping bag that will keep me warm down to forty degrees Fahrenheit, a couple pairs of quick drying socks which keep my feet very dry, a travel alarm clock, and a watch. I also got a couple pair of quick drying underwear, but I'll not talk about that in case there is anyone squeamish out there. Finally, I recently visited an REI store and looked at some of their merchandise. I found myself a backpack with both a sternum strap and a waist strap which will displace the load evenly across my back, that I will use as a day pack. I also finished out my purchase of socks and bought myself a quick-drying camp towel which is essentially a giant sham-wow.  These are but a few of the purchases I have made so far, and I'm excited to get new toys to make my life on this amazing trip even easier.
